Fields and ranges

FinLease is a calculator of the "what you see is what is calculated" type: as soon as it detects valid input, results are automatically calculated.

That way you avoid mistakes when you change input and forget to press the Calculate button: there isn't any!

The rules are simple:

Notes

1. The minimum number of payments is the sum of any advance, step up and step down payments. For instance, if you set up a lease with 24 payments of which 6 are specified as advance, step up or step down payments, there'll be 18 normal payments. Normal payments are treated as seasonal payments if they fall in a month that has been checked in the Seasonal options dialog.

2. The minimum and maximum values are also influenced by equipment cost, advance, step up, step down or residual payment amounts and percentages and by the total number of payments and steps.

3. Seasonal fixed amounts can be each as high as the lease cost minus any fraction allocated to advance, step up, step down or residual payments. This can create stituations in which there is a negative last payment in the amortization schedule. If this situation is detected, an alert will be shown and you'll need to change the setup in order to prevent it.

What if nothing happens?

With all the validation that's going on behind the scenes, it could happen that FinLease doesn't recalculate automatically. To force a recalculation, just change a selection in one of the pop-up menus and change it back.
