Currencies window

FinLease lets you choose from 182 different currencies which are divided into three groups:

EMU currencies

The Euro and the currencies of the 12 member countries of the Economic and Monetary Union.
.. Online updates

35 commonly used currencies whose Euro exchange rates can be updated online.
Here you'll find the US Dollar and the Japanese Yen.

Manual updates

Currencies whose Euro exchange rates need to be updated manually.
Here you'll find currencies such as the Afghanistan Afghani and the Zimbabwean Dollar.

FinLease also provides two "special" currencies:

None

The "None" currency has neither ISO code nor symbol.
Use it when you don't want an ISO code or symbol to appear on screen or in the saved results.
The "None" currency is located at the top of the EMU currencies list.

Custom

Use the "Custom" currency if your currency is not available among the 182 provided currencies.
The "Custom" currency is located at the bottom of the Manual updates list.


Currencies window

To work with currencies choose the Edit Currencies command from the Currency menu and open the Currencies window.

Click the EMU currencies, Online updates or Manual updates tab to view and edit the currencies belonging to each group.

Click the Online resources tab to turn on automatic rates update at startup, specify a proxy and visit the sites which can assist you while updating rates manually.


Selecting a default currency

To select the default currency, click the Default Currency button in the Currencies window and open the Default Currency dialog. Select the currency in the list and click the OK button to display the pane where it is located and to select it as the default currency for new documents


Finding currencies

To find a currency, click the Find button in the Currencies window and open the Find Currency dialog. Select the currency in the list and click the Show button to display the pane where it is located and select it.


Editing currencies

To edit a currency, double-click it and open the Edit Currency dialog. Use the Edit Currency dialog to specify a symbol to be used instead of the ISO code, edit the currency's Euro exchange rate (for non-EMU currencies), select a different rounding and add or remove the currency from the Currency menu.


Updating exchange rates

The Euro exchange rates of the currencies belonging to the Online updates group can be updated automatically over the Internet. To update these rates automatically, click the Update button in the Online updates pane.
