Online updates

To edit the currencies whose Euro exchange rates can be updated online, choose Edit Currencies in the Currency menu and open the Currencies window.

Then click the Online updates tab.


About Online updates

The currencies in the Online updates pane are 28 commonly used non-EMU currencies whose Euro exchange rate can be edited manually in the Edit Currency dialog or updated automatically over the Internet using the daily Euro exchange rates published by the European Central Bank.

Note that the default Euro exchange rate for the currencies in the Online updates pane is set to 1: to replace this default value with the latest online rates, establish a Internet connection and click the Update button.


Updating rates automatically

To automatically update the Euro exchange rates in the list, establish an Internet connection and click the Update button. To cancel the automatic update, click the Stop button.


Troubleshooting

If rates aren't updated, check to make sure that you're able to connect to the Internet.

If you're using a proxy, check that you have entered the proxy's address and port correctly in the System Preferences.


Editing Online updates currencies

To edit a currency belonging to the Online updates group, double-click it in the Online updates pane and open the Edit Currency dialog.

   
Symbol field

display a symbol instead of the currency's ISO code (leave the symbol field empty to display the ISO code)
To enter a predefined currency symbol, select it from the pop-up menu.

   
Euro exchange rate field manually enter the Euro exchange rate for the selected currency
   
Rounding pop-up menu change the rounding used to display calculation and conversion results
   
Show checkbox show or hide the currency in the Currency menu
