File menu

The File menu lets you work with variable interest tables, examine life table files and lets you save calculation results and variable interest tables to text files. It also lets you print, preview or save results and variable interest tables as PDF files.

Variable Interest Tables...

Opens the Variable Interest Tables window and lets you view and edit the contents of variable interest tables.

New Table

Opens the New Table dialog and lets you create a new table.

Duplicate Table

Opens the Duplicate Table dialog so you can make a duplicate of the current table.

Rename Table

Opens the Rename Table dialog and lets you enter a new name for the current table.

Delete Table

Opens the Delete Table dialog and lets you select the table you want to delete.

Life Tables

Opens the Life Tables window and lets you examine the contents of the available life table files.

Save Results / Save Table...

Opens the standard Save dialog and lets you save the current calculation's results and details or the current table to a text file. Results and details are saved when the calculation window is active, while tables are saved when the Variable Interest Tables window is active.

Note: FinKit will not overwrite an existing file if it's open in another application. If you want to use the same name as an existing file, make sure that the file isn't open before saving.

Page Setup...

Opens the Page Setup dialog and lets you specify the printing format and quality.

Print Results /Table...

Opens the Print dialog and lets you print, preview or save calculation results or variable interest tables as PDF files.
